Lived, breathed and delivered by elite individuals
Our one-day in-person workshop programme is delivered by programme lead and former New Zealand International Rugby player Robbie Hunter-Paul.

The Toolkit in Detail
Session 1: Introduction to wellbeing & how we’re wired.
The ‘introduction to wellbeing’ is broken into two halves. The first part helps staff to reframe wellbeing and position it alongside physical fitness, helping to break preconceived stigmas, and normalise mental health as being an important part of everyday life.
In the second part, we use Professor Steve Peters’ ‘Chimp Paradox model’ to explore how the different parts of our brain are responsible for things like logical thinking, automated responses, and mental states like pleasure and stress. We also explore how the management of the different parts of the brain can help with our own mental fitness.
Session 2: Stress and coping.
The second session deals directly with stress, why we have it, the purpose it serves, and how we can manage it. In this session we explore positive coping strategies as well as understanding the impact of negative ones.
Session 3: Sleep upgrade.
Often overlooked, the focus of session three is sleep. Huge amounts of research have identified sleep as a core pillar of wellbeing and essential for both physical and mental fitness. Sleep has the ability to boost mood, increase both cognitive function, and immune health while reducing stress and the risks of chronic diseases, ensuring optimal overall health.
Session 4: Mindful vs mindfulness.
In session four, we explore mindfulness and meditation. Promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and enhanced focus in this session; we discuss what it is, how it works, and how regular practice is linked to focus and productivity, as well as numerous mental and physical health benefits.
Session 5: The digital detox
We live in an ‘ALWAYS ON’ world, where, due to our smart devices, from the moment we wake until our heads hit the pillow later that evening, we’re constantly bombarded with messages, emails, news stories and offers. We’re all exhausted! In this workshop we explore how digital media controls our behaviours, the damage being caused, and we share real time coping mechanisms to take back control.
Session 6: My body, my temple.
The final session concentrates on exercise and nutrition. Identified as the most critical of the wellbeing tools, we explore not just how exercise and nutrition is important to wellbeing but also what types of exercise we should be doing for long term health and productivity.
